Our Story

JACK JENNINGS OPENED THE SHOP IN 1960

where he was able to turn his passion for everything from the East into a career. When a back injury put Jack out of action for some while, his wife Margaret and daughter Clare took over running the business. Today it is in Clare's capable hands, with her role including travelling to the East to search for exclusive and beautiful rugs. She also carries out valuations of oriental rugs or carpets, with fees for her work donated to charitable causes in Afghanistan, which we are actively involved with.
Although we have grown and developed considerably since we first opened for business, we have kept pace with changing times and modern day customer needs whilst remaining very much an individual family business with traditional values and distinctive character.
